This heavily depends on the input material and overall circumstances. For example if the input material requires a lot of pre sorting and separation one would require more space, or if the input material is very wet one would need more space to dry the waste material. A 30MW Blue Tower plant running on approx. 60,000 tons MSW per year typically requires around 4 acres total space ( 175,000 feet2 / 16,000m2).
