17. Which liquid effluents (waste water) is generated in a Blue Tower?
The Staged Reforming process conducted in a Blue Tower is potentially waste water free. This is because the Blue Tower is a net water consumer - in the form of steam - during the reforming stage. The condensate normally obtained when cooling down product gas of any gasification process, may be recycled. Normal unspecific effluents when produced at a Blue Tower plant, like rainwater, sanitary waste water and so forth – can be drained off in a standard way. If the input material has a higher water content than 20% as in average MSW, if desired we can collect and clean this water by reverse osmosis (to drinking water quality) and use this water in an economically and environmentally beneficial manner.
