16. What is the product of the Blue Tower and what can it be used for?
Primary Output
The primary output material is a high quality product gas. The gas typically consists of round about (depending on input material) 50% hydrogen - H2, 25% carbon dioxide - CO2, 20% carbon monoxide - CO and 5% methane - CH4. Nitrogen as part of the air and potentially diluting the product gas of the partial combustion - as for instance during the air gasification – is banned from the process with steam gasification. The Blue Tower product gas has a calorific value (energy value) of 12 - 13 MJ/Nm3 and can be used in conventional gas motors, boilers, turbines etc. to generate electricity.
